2 1.5-2” New York Strip Steaks
1 tablespoon coarse salt
1 bag frozen French Fries
3 teaspoons thyme, chopped
2 teaspoons parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon roasted garlic
1 teaspoon flakey salt
4 oz softened unsalted butter
1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper (extra to taste)
½ teaspoon truffle oil (if desired)
Air Frying Basket
1.In a small bowl combine 2 teaspoons thyme, 1 teaspoon parsley, 1 teaspoon roasted garlic, 1 teaspoon black pepper, ½ teaspoon flakey salt and 4 ounces of softened butter. Mix well and wrap in plastic wrap, shaping the butter into a log. Refrigerate until you’re ready to serve.
2.Generously season each steak with salt on both sides. Using 2-3 paper towels press firmly onto the steaks to dry the outside as much as possible. Allow to rest and come to room temperature.
3.Select Air Fry function and turn the dial to the Fries Preset. Press starts. Press the knob one time and extend the time by 5 minutes.
4.Once the 5 minutes added to the timer has elapsed, add frozen French fries to your air frying basket. Place basket in the air fryer and cook 8 minutes, mix fries and place back into the air fryer until the cycle completes. Toss fries into a large bowl and season lightly with ½ teaspoon flakey salt while still hot.
5.Select Air Fry and adjust the dial to Steak. Extend the time by 15 minutes and press start. Wait until the light that reads STEAK has stopped flashing (this may take up to 5 minutes). Place both steaks into the air frying basket and place into rung 3. Cook steaks 5-8 minutes per side-depending on how rare or well done you prefer your steak. Place cooked steaks on a cutting board and allow to rest for 8-10 minutes before slicing.
6.While the steak rests, return the French fries back to the air fryer on the Fries setting and cook for 5-7 minutes until fries are hot and crisp. Remove and toss with 1 teaspoon of thyme, one teaspoon of parsley, and ½ teaspoon of truffle oil if desired.
7.Serve Steak with a slice of herb butter and a generous serving of French fries.
